Titanium Alloys

Grade Description Applications
Grade 1 Softest and most ductile, with excellent corrosion resistance and high impact toughness. Chemical processing, Chlorate manufacturing, Dimensional stable anodes, Desalination, Architecture, Medical industry, Marine industry, Automotive parts, Airframe structure.
Grade 2 Known as the “workhorse” for its usability, weldability, strength, and corrosion resistance. Architecture, Power generation, Medical industry, Hydro-carbon processing, Marine industry, Exhaust pipe shrouds, Airframe skin, Desalination, Chemical processing, Chlorate manufacturing.
Grade 4 Strongest commercially pure titanium with good formability and weldability. Airframe components, Cryogenic vessels, Heat exchangers, CPI equipment, Condenser tubing, Surgical hardware, Pickling baskets.
Grade 7 Equivalent to Grade 2, but with added palladium for enhanced corrosion resistance, especially in reducing acids. Chemical processes and production equipment components.
Grade 11 Similar to Grade 1 but with added palladium for better corrosion resistance, particularly in chloride environments. Chemical processing, Chlorate manufacturing, Desalination, Marine applications.
Ti 6Al-4V (Grade 5) The most commonly used titanium alloy, offering high strength, corrosion resistance, and formability. Aircraft turbines, Engine components, Aircraft structural components, Aerospace fasteners, High-performance parts, Marine applications, Sports equipment.
Ti 6AL-4V ELI (Grade 23) A higher purity version of Grade 5, used in biomedical applications due to its excellent biocompatibility and fatigue strength. Orthopedic pins, screws, cables, ligature clips, surgical staples, springs, orthodontic appliances, joint replacements, cryogenic vessels, bone fixation devices.
Grade 12 Excellent weldability and corrosion resistance, similar to stainless steel, for high-temperature applications. Shell and heat exchangers, Hydrometallurgical applications, Elevated temperature chemical manufacturing, Marine and airframe components.
Ti 5Al-2.5Sn Non-heat treatable, with high strength, temperature stability, and corrosion resistance, ideal for aircraft and cryogenic applications. Aircraft and airframe applications, Cryogenic applications.
